aye aye, Captain!

Our bed frame has arrived!

Months ago, while Lou and I were planning our interior design, we agreed to purchase a captain's bed since it's more suitable for small spaces, like ours. But because we had no time to canvass (and actually because I've never seen one in the usual furniture stores), we asked Kuya Edward to do it - the same guy who did our hanging cabinets for the kitchen and bathroom.

Originally his quote was 27k, for my initial design which was high enough to reach our window's ledge, and had 6 drawers (3 drawers for each level). We both thought it's expensive, and so we asked him what can be altered in the design to make it just 20k. He said, 20k is workable if we cut the drawers to 4 instead - he said, the more drawers there are, the more expensive it is, because rollers (that thing under, that help you roll in/out a drawer smoothly) is really expensive. It sounded ok so we settled for that.

Then after around 2 weeks, it finally came! while waiting for it to be assembled, I took pics:

I LOVE IT! the whole time it was being assembled, Lou and I were saying just one thing - every cent spent for this was worth it. The wood quality is good, and the hollow space was maximized really well, because Kuya Edward also built 2 compartments (like treasure chests) next to the drawers! yes it was his idea! We haven't decided actually what we'll put in it, but most likely we'll hide there all the bulky seasonal stuff - jackets, comforters, luggages, etc.
