(This is a backlog actually. Just last tuesday we had our 2nd quiz night!)
June 29 - For the first time, I tried the quiz night of Murphy's - that irish pub just behind my workplace, ironically. It sounded fun and geeky, so Mela managed to drag me, who then dragged Marcy and Bev, who dragged Rach, giving us JUST 5 brains who had to compete with other teams composed of AT LEAST 7 people, who all seemed to be quiz night mainstays! gee!
So anyway, there were 10 categories, with 10 questions each. They're all random, so you can't googlize everything beforehand, then go there saying "I'm prepared!", unless you're a mensa. All you need is your stock knowledge!
Be prepared for the questions like: Who is the mascot of fastfood [blah blah] in 19-[blah blah]? Who is the author of the poem [blah blah]? What insect is named after [blah blah]? What do you call the move in the sport [blah blah] where a player can [blah blah]? Who is the current prime minister of [blah blah]? then there's the less serious stuff - you have to guess the movie title given its ad/poster. Or, you have to watch a short film then answer questions about it. stuff like that. see, Quiz Night = really RANDOM STUFF!
The prize: consumable P2000 for the winning team, P1000 for the 2nd, free shots for the last place, and free shots for the winning team PER CATEGORY. So, wanna know our final score? 48 out of 100. rank: 2nd to the last. hahaha! I know, I know, almost losers. BUT that wasn't so bad when in fact, we're the smallest team right!? And 4 of us were first timers! Oh, and we won a category so at least we got a round of free shots!
...so who said drinking isn't wholesome??! haha! I loved the night! I really should have something like this once a week, it is a very good brain exercise! @cie: of course, they have hot tea as well :) oo ba sama kaaaaa, my team (college friends) needs variety sa specialty/knowledge and age.. lagi kami kulelat e. :( haha! but it's really fun. join kayo ni sai one tues ok!

hmm.. mejo madami tao, sometimes it gets too crowded, pero ok lang un bsta make reservations. hehe. it's actually more fun when there are more participants.
di naman nakakahiya sumablay kase sinusulat sa papel ung sagot, kinukuha after every category. then there's a white board for each team's score -- yun ang nakakahiya. hahaha!
but it's alright, everyone's there for fun :) (or our team, at least. haha)
