In love with Shoji

Turnover date of Lou's unit will be on January 30! -- a bit delayed than what we wanted, but much much earlier than the worst case scenario I thought of. Since my move out date is on January 22, this means I'll have 8+ NPA days, (no permanent address. lol) which isn't so bad! And it's not really a problem to move twice in a row at this point, as I've already sold/donated the big stuff that require a lipat bahay truck. All I have to do now as to declutter, and to be really patient, esp on those NPA days, which will surely exceed 8 days having all the renovations I have in mind!

quick background - I'll move out from my place, which I've been renting for 2 years now. I'll move to Lou's [new] unit which I'll be renting too, for the same rate! It's a good deal since his unit is bigger than mine now, it has more amenities and it's near my work's shuttle station ...Plus, on my first few months of stay, I can pay in interior - I can spend for its interior, enjoy the therapeutic dressing up of his home (which is also an advantage for him!), in exchange for my rent!

Anyway, I have already consulted an Interior Designer (Mae's interior designer!) for a japanese/zen, Shoji-filled unit, but I haven't really finalized things since the designer's still working on the estimate, and still reviewing my specs if they're feasible. Best case is to have everything designed by this guy, but if it'll be too pricey, we might have just some things worked on -- the divider at least, as I can't do this myself. something like this:

...and do everything else by DIY. I hope we can pull this off!
