Say what? Okonomiyaki???

Last saturday, kez and I met up for a really late lunch. We were choosing between Teriyaki Boy and Ramen Tei as we were both craving for Japanese food, when we passed by Fukuya, a small Jap resto which had that typical display of plastic food behind the glass window (Festival mall, 3rd level). We were both not familiar with it so we gave it a try, besides it didn't seem pricey.

To my surpise, their menu had...... OKONOMIYAKI!!!! To all those not familiar, it's like a pancake filled with (I think) stir fried noodles, cabbage strips and shrimps, topped with a special sweet-salty sauce. imagine the sauce for Takoyaki balls, that one! I've been craving for it since my Japan trip, and it's only now that I discovered a japanese resto here that serves okonomiyaki, now can you imagine my awe!?

So, I ordered it to finally satisfy my long time craving! Yes, it tasted like the one we had in Osaka! (only for P150. or was that 170? less than 200, I'm sure!) The serving's just right – one medium-sized plate as usual, BUT it was more than enough for us two as we also ordered ramen, maki and gyoza. I had to take home 1/4 of it actually. haha! Sulit! I should have another dose this week!!!
