Finishing touches na lang PA!

Finally, last weekend, Lou's condo was turned over (yay!), and we both had mixed emotions about it. He's frustrated that the ceiling's a bit low, and the unit's smaller than he imagined. While I'm frustrated that although it's a corner unit with 2 glass windows, only one can be opened. Thus, I think the ventilation would be poor. And there's an irregularity on one wall coz of the exhaust path. etc, etc.

But of course I tried my best not to show it, as he's been saying it's his gift to me. I don't want him to feel that it was an ugly gift! After all, the unit is generally nice, and I know it will even be more awesome, once all the interior works are done! As I told him, it's actually impossible get a perfect unit upon turnover. No developer can make a generic unit that can satisfy all expectations, right? (Like, I overheard, another tenant is complaining about the door, and I don't understand why!) There will always be something frustrating. Actually, for me, the better term is CHALLENGING.

Nonetheless we're both happy with the swimming pool! I also like the bathroom, the hallways, the lobby, and the fast elevators (where a pressed button can be undone -- LOL babaw! haha). Most importantly, I LOVE THE LOCATION. As early as now I can imagine myself walking running to our office's shuttle pick up point, which is just a few blocks away - a distance that can be reached by 5 mins (walking) or 3 mins (jogging) or 2 mins (running) -- HAHA, yes, I've mastered all these stuff! =)

Anyway, good thing my officemate's husband makes cabinets (does mostly interior/renovation stuff - from estimating to building to leading his own team of workers). He has a record of good quality work, as he's also the same guy who my bosses hire for their houses/condos. And so I was enticed to do most things DIY - to just design most cabinets myself, let him work based on my designs, and be open to his professional opinions. By now he's working on the estimates, then saturday is the start of construction! yey!

Then, tomorrow I'll meet an interior designer, because no matter how much I squeeze my creativity (if it exists, LOL), I still can't make a perfect design for the den + dining area. Lou and I have mixed up conditions on it, and I believe that the only way to satisfy them all (while still making it beautifully japanized), is to consult a professional designer!

So there! I realized it's still a looooong way to go before I can move in. probably a month or two! Sometimes I'm getting impatient! But more often, I'm glad I don't have to rush this, otherwise I'd end up hating my place for my own ugly impromptu designs.

Aaah, this quarter will surely be hectic for me. costly, and happy too. :)
