Quiz Night @ Union Jack Tavern

...just when I thought I'm so over this thing!!!

Mela introduced me to yet another quiz night, in Union Jack Tavern this time!

Comparison: Union Jack Tavern is a British Pub while Murphy's is an Irish Pub, thus they're very much alike with regards to the aura of the place, type of food they serve (MEAT PIES!), selection of drinks, and price range. Now I'm not sure if the owner is the same, or if such ambiance is just a common European thing. But as for the food quality and service, I prefer Union Jack Tavern.

Quiz mechanics - very similar too: Fee is 100/head, there are 10 categories where 1 can be your joker category, category topnotchers will get free shots, top 3 on the totals will get GCs. But what makes Union Jack Tavern a lil better on this one is that they serve TEQUILA for the free shots (Murphy's serve something like gin and lime?) AND they have more flat screen TVs, to project ALL questions.

Difficulty level - This will always be relative. For someone who gave up on quiz nights (like me!), of course, QUESTIONS ARE HARD. hahaha! But comparing it with Murphy's, questions are a bit easier. Or, questions are in the same difficulty level BUT there's a higher chance of guessing answers right, because it has more questions with pictures (ex. Who's this actress *shows picture* who played as james bond girl in 1960something, entitled something something). If I remember correctly, there were 4 categories with pictures, and 1 category with videos (guess the title and artist of the song in MTV).

Now we go to my group's performance - with a score of 50+ (I think), We got the 3rd place baby!!! But I can't be so proud, it was Mela's friend's husband who actually pulled our score really high. haha! (really, I can't understand how some people seem to know every trivia on earth!) Congrats to us, and thank God for genius people in the social network!

Last info I got for ya: A frequent topnotcher team in Murphy's (tuesdays) also plays in Union Jack Tavern (wednesdays)!!! Now I'm wondering if going to pub quizzes is the only thing that these people do EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. @-)
