WOFEX 2011

Weeks ago, Lou got his 2nd (and thus far the most sulit) deal from cashcashpinoy - tickets to World Food Expo 2011! Originally, it's at P100 per head, but through cashcashpinoy, Lou got it for P100 for two!

And so saturday (yesterday), the last day of the event, we went to World Trade Expo to use our voucher. Turns out that World Food Expo's not only a showcase of foods, but also a really good venue to scout for restaurant needs (if you own one, of course. haha), and to get a business idea if you're into cooking, baking, brewing, franchising, reselling, EVERTYHING!

For us plain visitors, it was a worthy lunch. No, there was no free lunch, but almost each booth had something free for the visitors to taste. As far as I can remember, we had at least 15 free tastes from different manufacturers/ distrubutors/ restaurants/ food carts - such as kropek, cookies, hopia, popcorn, meatloaf, flavored rice, cheese, noodles, nuts, dried fruits, tea, smoothies and coffee! (Really, I'm thankful that our tummies survived!)

As for me, I also enjoyed buying products that I don't usually see in the supermarket. I got a pack of oyster mushrooms for only P25, a pack of mixed nuts + dried fruits for P65, and a bottle of locally made vanilla flavoring (for my ice cream) for only P35. Too bad we had a prayer meeting to attend at night, so we weren't able to buy the rest we wanted, like the frozen products, which were a lot cheaper compared outside! (This Nespresso got me interested by the way. The coffee is good, and the brewer is really cool! I'm wishing that one day I'll rent this for an event. I got their business card and brochure. Who knows!)

All in all, it was an awesome event - something I'll look forward to in the future if I need to put up a food-related business. (or if I want to refill my food stash ...or if I just want the free taste. hehehe!) Next time too I'd probably invite my business-minded friends, WOFEX is just the perfect event for them.
