Nothing spectacular -- Ronco Beach Resort was really really far (somewhere in calatagan, batangas), the beach wasn't nice (sand wasn't fine, it's grassy when tide is low!) and our room wasn't really neat looking.
...BUT in the end, I loved the trip. The resort wasn't crowded, in fact I think for our entire stay, there were just 2 groups of guests - us, and a family of 4. It was really windy the entire time (dunno if it has something to do with the coming typhoon in Bicol, but anyway...), there was an awesome infinity pool, the stars were really clear at night ...and everything we ate were all home made, pinoy and best of all, cheap: GRILLED STUFFED BANGUS, GRILLED LIEMPO, GRILLED BURGER PATTIES, GRILLED EGGPLANTS, GREEN MANGOS WITH BAGOONG, TOMATOES, SALTED EGGS, CHICKEN PORK ADOBO, RED JUICY HOTDOGS, MARSHMALLOWS ...AND BEER! (so proud Ann and I prepared all of them, so proud of the boys too for their grilling skills!)
what made the trip even better: no itinerary to follow, no boat ride to catch, no annoying resort guests, no much resort restrictions (we brought our food and drinks without corkage, we even brought our own rice cooker!!!), there's a masseuse who can give you a relaxing AND CHEAP full body massage UNDER THE STARS. AND I was with an awesome company! What more can I ask for??? =)
This now defines my ideal beach trip -- Oh, I'm getting old! =|
[thanks raffy for the awesome shots!]
