birthdays - diet.pause();

It was the weekend of birthdays, so as I told fb - diet.pause(); hehe!

Birthday boy Lou treated us (his family plus me) to dinner, at Yakimix Tomas Morato. As always, I looked forward to that bottomless grilled bacon! And as always too, I went home really full and satisfied! yumyummmm bacon forever!!! Added to my personal fave this time: japanese spicy bacon, sweet corn, and shrimps!

This time too, I loved their ice cream + leche flan + choco sprinkles. Never had the chance before to mix and match desserts - I used to get just their mango sago, cheesecakes and brownies. hehe.

Really, Yakimix food is so simple. But why am I always craving for this?!

Next day was the joint birthday celebration of my nephew and niece at UP Lagoon. PICNIC!!! Everyone enjoyed the food, and the outdoor activities - frisbee, strolling, running, biking, simple chatting. As for me, I also enjoyed SLEEPING coz lou brought his huge tent with soft sleeping bag. mmm!

This is our 2nd family picnic - first one was at QC circle, during my other nephew's birthday last September. Looks like it's becoming our default type of celebration, I guess we really are an outdoor family. hehe! But between QC circle and UP Lagoon, I'd go for UP Lagoon again. It had more trees, it wasn't crowded, and strangers didn't look suspicious ;) haha!

Sunday night was the eve of Lou's birthday. It's been a hectic weekend, so at night in Bulacan we just had a few bottles, pancit canton, and hotdogs. haha!

We haven't gone to a birthday date, so... last night (monday), for our home date, I cooked his birthday request - [humoungous] spicy italian meatball pasta. :)

my spicy italian meatball pasta simot!

I used 1/2 kg beef for my meatballs, which means we each had more than a half pound! and YES, 2nd photo is our plate after 30 minutes. hahaha! o-m-gee!

I wished I bought ice cream, soda, chicken and other party stuff. But the meatballs - oh, so tiring and tummy-filling. yeah, I didn't have space anymore for dessert, anyway. hehe! But I'm so glad I discovered something I can bring on our upcoming beach/barbecue trips (grilled burger patties!!!)

So... that's it! now that I'm back to work .... diet.resume();
