I've been hearing a lot about Ayala Triangle Gardens, since I moved to Makati (but not when I worked here in Makati for the first time, back in 2005. I think this Ayala Triangle is relatively new.) and I never had a chance to see it, until yesterday. A colleague invited me to jog there, as she and other colleagues regularly do. It's something new, and it's for my health's sake anyway ...so I said yes!
And so we jogged there last night, which also happened to be the first night for Makati CBD to show off its christmas decors. Ayala Triangle was filled with lanterns, like it's welcoming me on my very first jog there. haha! It's filled with joggers/runners as well, perhaps a hundred or more. Apparently, it's an exercise place for busy yuppies. why not, if you're working in CBD, it's just a few steps away from your workplace! and it's a place where you can jog, brush off stress, and appreciate nature all at the same time -- FOR FREE!
It's that triangle between Ayala Ave, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Ave - 3 streets filled with cars ...and pollution especially during the rush hour. BUT, the air inside is surprisingly fresh and cool, seriously! I guess it's the trees! (And I wonder why a lot still prefer to jog along the outermost trail - the one that's already outside the triangle's fence. I tried jogging there for a bit, and I wasn't able to stand the smell of smoke!)
Nothing beats the serenity inside. I enjoyed everything, considering that jogging bores me a lot (I don't even run in the gym!). I think it's the fusion of trees, landscape, cool breeze, the many choices of trails, and the presence of other active yuppies. Plus the upcoming restos by the way! on one side, are the many restaurants that will open soon. Omakase is one of them. I can't wait!
I think from now on, I'll jog there at least once a week. (And this is a vow on top of my other vow, which is to attend a cycling class, also at least once a week! My heart must be really really happy by now. hehe!)
