holy week

work week's almost over!

I still haven't thought of what I'd do this holy week. on thurs and fri, when malls are closed and when there's nothing much to see on tv, I'd probably just read my 2 novels here which I haven't finished. and I'd probably give my room a general cleaning. ya, that's a good idea, I should do that first thing on thurs before I change my mind! I know my room badly needs it. haha!

then I might attend greenbelt's easter vigil on saturday. Ü

nope I'm not going anywhere. for one, everyone will be out of town. traffic will be heavy for sure... I'd rather bum around for 4 days! and because, after all, holy week should be a time for prayer... right?

have a blessed week everyone! Ü

NetBeans 6.1

(for non-java developers, go away)

Download Netbeans 6.1 ...the startup's so much faster now (while memory consumption dropped by half!) Also, under Services > Databases, MySQL's already included ...perhaps coz Sun already bought MySQL? So now, you can use the same IDE for browsing MySQL DB objects.

These are what I liked so far, though I know there's so much more. check out their site for more goodies. thus far I can say, it's worth downloading. but it's still in Beta --anticipate bugs. hehe Ü

one down, more to go

our POC presentation in BIR went well. Our VP was happy about it and so after his lunch treat at Astoria, he told me & my 2 PMs that we (and the whole team back in Alabang) could take an early off today since we finished the whole thing at 3am just a while ago. Thank God for that, imagine my 2 PMs & I had to go to BIR at 9am, w/c meant leaving Alabang office at 7am, which meant leaving the house at 6am! I had JUST 3 HOURS for sleep, bath & breakfast!

But more than that, I thank God for a perfect presentation. I was really worried about it coz it was completed hours before. you know what that means? it's so prone to surprise bugs (murphy's law: things will go wrong in any given situation. haha!) and because I don't like the idea of presenting a project that's not solely mine. I could've freaked out if something went wrong while my supports are still probably sleeping. haha!

And take note, it's not just a school project nor an internal company project. it's a million-peso deal! we're talking about real business here!

good thing my 2 PMs were there. setting up has never been my prob coz they're ironically more techie than me. I'm harware-phobic ever since college (that's why I dread CE subjects). Though I know it's a bad attitude, I know one day I'd be sent to a presentation where there would be no one else to turn to. I should learn not just to instantly patch up someone else's program bugs during presentation ...but also to know the ABCs of setting up the hardware that we need.

more particulary everything that's related to networking. arrrgh, I admit I'm so bad at it. no wonder I took that subject ALMOST THRICE back in college!

anyway, I just woke up to have dinner and to check on blogs and mails, as usual. I'll go back to sleep once I'm done, I still need it so badly!

one down, more to go.Ü

funny week start!

Daryl, Jon & I left south center as early as 8am, as we had to attend a 9am meeting at Philhealth. Upon reaching westgate, an officemate called up and said that for some reasons the meeting has to be rescheduled, but she has to confirm it yet. So while waiting for her 2nd call, we decided to munch something at gonuts donuts. Gastos kaagad! It was a bad way to start the week. hahaha!

hazelnut crunch & orange juice
for breakfast! :)

After about 20 mins, she called up again and said that ya it’s confirmed that it will be rescheduled. Apparently there was a misunderstanding with the date & time of the meeting. So of course we went back to the office. Good thing we haven’t reached that far yet. At around 11 am, we were informed that the meeting will push through today, at 1pm. So again, we left the office (gaaaaah. rewind & play!), grabbed a quick lunch at Chowking c-5 and went to Philhealth. Funny sched, isn’t it?! Haha!

----------------

Miko and Gen followed. So after the meeting, there were 5 of us –Miko, Gen, Daryl, Jon and me. We hanged out for a while near the small convenience store, which stood near the building's back driveway. when suddenly an AUV stopped in front of us. Several men wearing polo-barong came out... Then Gen asked, “sino kaya yan...?” Last time we were in Philhealth, Binay was there too ...So without thinking, I jokingly said “c Binay yan!” hehe :D

Suddenly, I realized that a short dark guy was just behind me. guess who... Si Binay nga :O langya leda. I feel like he intentionally approached our area coz he heard me me say his name :O hahaha!

he tapped jon on the shoulder then asked “hi, do you smoke?”. Jon just smiled and said “no...” then Binay shook hands with Gen. he asked the same thing, then shook hands with Miko. Not with Daryl coz he was holding a c2 bottle and not with me too coz I hid my hands which were full of Nova & Vcut crumbs. Hahaha!

Looks like he thought that we were Philhealth officials –coz Miko and Jon were both wearing white polo-barong while the rest of us were wearing the usual business attire. Weird attempt to start a conversation huh ...and did I just see a sneaky campaign??? Haha!
