my SILVER-th year
today I turned 25 :)
It's not as extravagant as I imagined... but I can say that this day is a lot more special compared to the past days and the coming days of 2008.
for one, I took a whole day off from work just so I could watch tv the whole morning. and yes the ruffles thing pushed through, along with N comfort foods which I started eating (sinfully) last night. I can't remember doing that in my entire AC Corp life!
In the afternoon I went to ystilo (festival mall) for a foot spa and pedicure. then I went to starbucks for a coffee, also to finish my danielle steel book which I left half-read 2 months ago.
I actually planned for a photo shoot in a real studio prior to my birthday (semi-nude, no kidding) as I wanted to keep photos of my youth before I reach mid-20s. I also planned to go out of town, at least within luzon so I could relax and unwind more. but since I'm on tight budgeting due to my bills and coming malaysia trip, none pushed through.
at first I was sad, but now I realize this day's not bad after all. besides, today is just my birth date... I have 12 more months to do all the craziness and adventures I planned for my 25th year :)
for those who remembered, and greeted me through text, call, friendster and ym, thanks so much! and for those who didn't... no biggie, I forget birthdays too. haha!and thanks too Ü for you've been a part of my life's first quarter (that's if I reach 100! hehe)

Nth birthday jitters
I've lost all the birthday excitement after last night, after I've computed the bills/expenses I have to face while my parents are away --meralco, pldt, cable, helper's salary, and food (for me and the helper. she eats twice as much!) take note I still have the usual credit card bills and daily personal expenses! I'M SOOO BROKE! :(
if only I knew earlier that it would be this costly, I could've chosen cheaper options and perhaps delayed my malaysia trip... I can't believe I have almost nothing for my birthday! *sigh*
apparently...... I have no choice but to treat it as it is --nothing but an age-o-meter. I'd probably just buy ruffles and watch tv the whole day. hope it's a good alternative... :(

langyang online booking
2 nights ago I booked for some hotel in kuala lumpur. Since I'll be arriving at 1am of Jan 5, I booked for Jan 4. Then the policy was displayed, saying that if by Jan 4 7pm I'm still not there, it would be considered as "no show". So I modified it and changed it to Jan 5. For some reasons, I couldn't change the date. It kept on displaying Jan 4 as my check in date even though I've selected Jan 5 over and over.
The next day, a friend helped out and changed my reservation to Jan 5 successfully (I dunno how that happened, so weird right?). Minutes later we realized that it just didn't seem right coz technically I’ll use a room that should be reserved for the night of Jan 4 right!? So I put the reservation back to Jan 4 ...and decided to call the hotel instead to clarify that I'm arriving at 1am.
(yes apparently, modifying is allowed at no cost)
I called them twice, but each conversation didn't end right... all because I couldn't understand the English. The guy who kept on answering the phone had an Indian accent. At each call though, I was able to tell them my confirmation number and who I am. I gave up till last night, luckily an English speaking girl answered the phone... she said that if I want to clarify anything about the reservation, I should call the next morning.
Arrgh. k fine. I called this morning... then guess what, the same girl answered the phone! After I said hello, she immediately said:
"ah yes, you are ms. aleydis cabrera. you called 3 times and modified your reservation 5 times. your reservation for January 4 is already ok." (sweet, friendly voice)
ako pa ang makulit :-|and how did she recognize my voice...? am I the hotel's only caller since last night? haha!
I then said that I'm arriving at 1am of Jan 5, meaning if I don't show up by 7pm of Jan 4, it is not a "no-show".
She said that the reservation's good till the next day, so I have nothing to worry about my reservation, which I modified 5 times --she again stressed out.
ok oo na. limang beses. I get it. haha!
